Who processes your data

Dutch USV Technologies, based in the Netherlands, is responsible for the personal data collected through this website. If you have a question about your data, use the contact form on this site; we reply within 2 working days.

What we collect

If you fill in the contact form, we process the details you enter yourself:

• Name and organisation (required)
• Email address (required)
• Phone number (optional)
• The topic you are interested in and your message (optional)
• The language you viewed the site in, so we reply in the same language
• The time of your submission

Usage statistics

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are visited and which searches bring people here. This processes a pseudonymous visitor ID, your IP address, your device and browser type, and the pages you visited. We use this only in aggregate to improve the site, never to identify or approach you personally.

In addition, our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs such as IP addresses and error messages, which are needed to run the site and prevent abuse.

Why we process it and on what basis

• To answer your question and get in touch. Basis: performance of, or steps prior to, a contract, and our legitimate interest in handling business enquiries.
• To run and secure the website, for example against spam and abuse. Basis: legitimate interest.
• To understand how the site is used and improve it. Basis: legitimate interest, or your consent where consent is required for analytics cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep contact form submissions for as long as needed to handle your question and, if a business relationship follows, for as long as that relationship lasts. If an enquiry leads nowhere, we delete the data at the latest 24 months after the last contact.

Statistics in Google Analytics are kept according to the retention period configured there. Technical logs at our hosting provider are deleted automatically after a short time.

Who else processes your data

We use a number of service providers that process data on our behalf. Data processing agreements are in place with these parties, and they may not use your data for their own purposes:

• Vercel: hosting of the website.
• Supabase: the database that stores contact form submissions.
• Resend: sending the notification email for a new enquiry.
• Google (Google Analytics 4): website usage statistics.

Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Some of these providers are based outside the EEA or may process data there. Where that happens, the transfer relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or on a valid adequacy decision, with additional safeguards where needed.

Cookies

This site uses the following cookies:

• A language preference cookie (“locale”, valid for one year). It remembers whether you view the Dutch or English version so you are not redirected every time. Functional and necessary.
• A session cookie for the admin area (“usv_admin_session”, valid for 8 hours). It is only set when an administrator logs in and does not apply to ordinary visitors.
• Analytics cookies from Google Analytics 4 (including “_ga”), which measure visits to the site.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted. You can also object to the processing, ask for it to be restricted, or request your data in a portable format. If you gave consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

To exercise these rights, contact us through the contact form on this site. We reply within 2 working days and in any case within one month.

If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority via autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

Security

The website runs entirely over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Submissions are stored in a database that is not publicly accessible: only our server can reach it, using a key that is used server-side only. The admin area is protected by a password and a signed session, and cannot be reached without a valid login.

Changes

We update this statement whenever the site or our way of working changes. The date at the top shows when the text was last revised.
